I am a fan of EJ Russell. She is fast becoming an author that I will read or buy a book by without question. Throw in a story in a multi author series in a common world and it's almost a sure thing. This book was delightful. I loved the characters of Lonnie and TD. I mean what's not to love? A theater set in Purgatory, put on by the Darned...they aren't in Hell and they aren't Damned. They are stuck in Limbo, but interestingly enough, none of them are sure why. They don't even remember dying. But they owe their existence to the whims of the Greek gods and everyone know how entitled they are. Lonnie and his fellow troupe have never questioned it until a "quickie," or live person, is brought in to help with their production of Midsummer Nights Dream. Enter TD who in his own self righteous anger starts negotiating better terms for everyone, not just himself. What ensues is all kinds of theatrical shenanigans. This book was so much fun! And I love Cerberus in this. What a big adorable puppy! I also loved the resolution to the story. Awesome book! The Magic Emporium collection has been a wonderful boon to my TBR and this selection is no exception. EJ Russell is a wonderful paranormal author, with originality and humor to go with the must have HEA. In Russell’s story, we meet TD when he’s down to his last $10, with no place to live and no job. He finds himself at the Magic Emporium and has no idea what he is walking into.I truly enjoyed the build-up in Lonnie and TD’s romance. Both have reasons for being wary but neither can deny their feelings. For TD, Lonnie goes from star-struck crush to sweet and hot love. For Lonnie, who never actually explored his sexuality, TD becomes his first, well, everything. As they explore their budding relationship (well as much as they can in their short time allotted), they can’t help but fall fast and hard.This is a truly original story and I love the arrangement of the Greek pantheon and the expansion of how ‘Purgatory’ works. Even the most minor characters are interesting and well done. And, of course, their HEA is so sweet.
